Environmental Health Services

The Health District’s Environmental Health Department is responsible for enforcing the Public Health Code of Connecticut and the local Aspetuck Health District Sanitary Code.  It does so through the issuance of permits, plan reviews and regular on-site inspections.

Food Service

Restaurants, convenience stores, grocery stores, bars, schools, private clubs, and temporary food events must obtain a permit and be approved before operation. All are inspected regularly. All Class 2, 3, and 4 establishments are required to have one or more Certified Food Protection Manager(s) (CFPM). They must be a full-time employee; on-site at all times the establishment is in operation and assigned as the CFPM to only one food establishment.
