Volunteer Today – Join our Medical Reserve Corps!
The Connecticut Mass Dispensing Area #4 (Westport, Weston, and Wilton) has been organized into a Medical Reserve Corps (MRC).
The MRC program, established in 2002, is comprised of organized medical, non-medical, and public health professionals who serve as volunteers to respond to natural disasters and emergencies. These volunteers assist communities during emergencies and for ongoing efforts in public health.
The Westport Weston Wilton MRC is operated by the Aspetuck Health District. Our MRC is currently focused on preparing for and responding to local public health emergencies. Although “medical” is in our name, you do not need to be a medical professional to volunteer.
All aspects of planning, establishing, and operating a Point of Dispensing, or “POD,” requires assistance from our MRC volunteers. Our plans specifically state that the MRC is a critical component to supplementing public health staff in all aspects of the operation. This includes everything from medical clinicians to individuals to manage supplies and other aspects of logistics. Volunteers who receive additional training may also be placed in various leadership roles. Whatever skills and experience you bring, chances are we can use them in our MRC!
