Hospitalization data were collected by the Connecticut Hospital Association. Deaths* reported to either the OCME or DPH are included in the daily COVID-19 update.
*For public health surveillance, COVID-19-associated deaths include persons who tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19 disease around the time of death (confirmed) and persons whose death certificate lists COVID-19 disease as a cause of death or a significant condition contributing to death (probable).

COVID-19 Testing
Finding a testing location is getting easier. If you are looking for a site to be tested for COVID-19, the State of Connecticut has created the “CT Testing Locator” through the United Way’s 2-1-1 service. Simply enter your zip code or town for a list of nearby testing sites.
The website does note that you can also call your doctor or medical provider to find out about their testing capability and that there are cities and towns that have set up testing opportunities that may not be listed on the 2-1-1 service.
For example, Westport and Weston residents can take advantage of the local option operated by St. Vincent’s Behavioral Health Center at 47 Long Lots Road in Westport. Call for an appointment (860)972-8100.
The State of Connecticut recommends that people in the following “focus categories” get tested:
- Those who have symptoms including cough, fever, short of breath, and loss of smell/taste
- Those who have been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, or have been contacted by a Contact Tracer and informed that they have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 case
- Those living or working in a nursing home or assisted living facility
- Those working in a DOC facility, and all inmates
- Those working or living in congregate or group housing
- Those at-risk residents in a high-risk community: densely populated cities like Hartford, Bridgeport, New Haven, Stamford, Danbury, Waterbury
- First responders
- Healthcare workers
- Direct care employees and residents
